Jordan Privacy Policy
Effective September 22, 2026
Jordan sends nothing until you click its button. When you do, it sends the page you're on and your questions to The Promptory so it can recommend tools. We don't sell your data, show ads, or track you across other websites.
This policy covers two versions of Jordan, The Promptory's AI tool advisor: the Jordan Chrome extension, and the Jordan widget that Promptory vault partners can add to their own websites. The Promptory is operated by Troy Jones.
Where Jordan runs
The extension only runs on the websites of tools listed in The Promptory's vault. It doesn't run on any other site, and it can't read pages outside that list. The widget only appears on partner sites that have chosen to add it.
What Jordan sends, and when
Nothing is sent until you click the Jordan button. After you click, Jordan sends the following to The Promptory's server at thepromptory.com:
- Which vault tool the site belongs to, plus the site's domain name, page title and page description.
- If you ask Jordan a question, your question and the rest of that conversation, so Jordan can reply in context.
Jordan doesn't read the rest of the page, your form entries, passwords, cookies or browsing history. Please don't type sensitive personal information into Jordan.
How we use it
We use this information only to generate Jordan's recommendations and replies. To do that, our server sends it to Anthropic, the company that makes the Claude AI model, which processes it under its terms for business customers. We don't use it for advertising, and we don't sell or rent it to anyone.
Our server briefly uses your IP address in memory to limit abuse, such as too many requests in a minute. We don't store it. Our hosting provider, Netlify, may process standard technical request logs.
What's stored on your device
- Extension: your settings (whether Jordan is on, and any sites you've hidden it on), plus recent recommendations for up to 24 hours so they load faster. These stay in your browser's extension storage.
- Widget: recent recommendations for up to 24 hours, and your choice if you click "Don't show again." These stay in your browser's storage for that partner's site.
Conversations aren't saved. They disappear when you close or reload the page.
Links to other tools
The tools Jordan recommends link to their own websites. Those links include tracking labels, such as "utm_source=jordan_extension", so tool makers can see that the visit came from The Promptory. Some links are affiliate links, which means The Promptory may earn a commission if you sign up. Once you leave for another site, that site's privacy policy applies.
Your choices
- Turn Jordan off, or hide it on specific sites, from the extension's menu in Chrome's toolbar.
- Remove the extension anytime from chrome://extensions, which also deletes its stored settings and recommendations.
- On a partner site, click "Don't show again," or clear that site's data in your browser settings.
Children
Jordan is a business tool and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change how Jordan handles data, we'll update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
